Puerta del Aceituno scenic area

Puerta del Aceituno scenic area

JAÉN, Spain

This project entails the construction of a building along side the walls of the Puerta del Aceituno in Jaén. The building will have a main auditorium with the capacity to hold 630 spectators, various workshop rooms and two stories underground for parking (7,000 m²).The main auditorium is built on a hillside and all the enclosure walls are angled inward, which together with its great height makes a detailed study on all the lifts absolutely necessary. On the other hand, the inside closure must remain open for public access. Therefore, only the upper part is enclosed with an wide angled beam, which sustains the side walls. Given that the beam is not self-supporting until the structure is complete, all the beams and walls must be supported.

Gare Intermodale

Gare Intermodale

ZARAGOZA, Spain

This large building has particularly high aesthetic and technical value, with the largest covered space without pillars in the whole of Spain. Another special project, whose roof structure is worth mentioning. It is 370 metres long and is made up of huge metal bow string arches, with 150 m distance and 14m deflection. These arches are separated by 43 m. The tension rod of each arch is supported by 4 vertical suspension cables. In the arches' lower tension rod lies the roof structure itself, which forms facets that are resolved with a pyramid-shaped structure.Another important aspect of the construction has been the foundation, where screens have been set up and anchored with 15 m post-stressed cables.ULMA Construcción was in charge of carrying out the east and west roads and the station halls.
